Pumpkin Spice Latte + CBD Recipe

We all know the feeling that happens when the fall season rolls around and we can finally run to our favorite coffee shop to order a long-awaited pumpkin spice latte. There’s nothing better than a hot cup of coffee on a brisk October morning, right? What if we told you you didn’t have to wait all year long to get your hands on your favorite autumn pick-me-up? Here is a simple recipe that combines the energizing kick of coffee and relaxing effects of CBD, and you can make it straight from the comfort of your own home no matter what season it is!

Ingredients:


  • 1 cup strongly brewed coffee

  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree

  • 1 tablespoon coconut sugar

  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 2 cups milk of choice

  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg

  • 1 tablespoon CBD oil


Instructions:


  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the coffee, pumpkin, coconut sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Heat for 3-5 minutes, or until hot, but not boiling.

  2. While the coffee is cooking, add milk to the frothing pitcher and place over medium heat.

  3. When the temperature reaches somewhere between 120-150 degrees Fahrenheit, you can begin to use the frother. Remove the pitcher from heat and continue to froth once the temperature reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.

  4. Move the frother in a circular, up & down motion, until 1-2 inches of foam appears.

  5. Divide the coffee mixture between two mugs and add the desired amount of CBD oil.

  6. Using a spoon to hold back the foam, add the hot milk to each cup. Aim for a 2:1 milk to coffee ratio.

  7. Spoon the remaining foam into each mug. Top with freshly grated nutmeg as desired. 


As a reminder, make sure your liquid never reaches a temperature above 240 degrees. This will inactivate many important properties of the CBD oil.
